A tiny kitten was crying for help on eastbound Interstate 20 in Fort Worth, Texas. The little guy had become entangled in a storm drain and was now wet, cold, and perplexed as traffic passed by.
Fortunately, someone noticed him before he became trapped behind the grate and called for assistance.

When two officers arrived on the scene, they were able to gradually coax the kitten from his hiding place — he was hesitant at first, fearful that they were going to hurt him. It just lay still under the sewer squealing and refused to accept the officer’s help. The two officers had to use every means to make it trust and obey.

The Police Department decided to let their Facebook followers vote on a name for the cat. They posted a post on social media asking netizens to give the cat a name and he was quickly dubbed Alexander (the Grate)!
Without a doubt, he won’t stay at the shelter for long before he’s adopted. He’s a cute little guy. Things could have ended badly for the kitten because he was so close to the gutter and the road, but thanks to the officers, he has a fantastic chance at enjoying an incredible life with a loving family.
